FAQs: FAQs

How do I book your services?

Head to the 'Contact' page and send a message with the details of your request: date, time, number of people, hair or makeup, if you require airbrush or lashes, what style of makeup or hairstyle you are booking for. We will get back to you within 48 hours to let you know if we can accommodate your booking. Once we've accepted your tentative booking, You will be forwarded a contract and an invoicefor a deposit. Once I have both the deposit and the contract, you will be fully booked! I book on a first come first serve basis, submit your contract and deposit early to avoid losing your date.

Which payment methods does Makeup by Chelsea & Co accept?

I accept cash or etransfer or payment through Honeybook.

I want to come with a friend — does Makeup by Chelsea offer package
deals?

You are more than welcome to have a friend join us for the duration of your appointment! At this time I do not offer package deals.

What do you charge for a deposit?

The deposit for services and to hold the date is 25% of predicted or quoted services. The deposit is non-refundable but will come off of your day-of total.

Do you have a minimum booking?

I have a minimum booking of 4 faces for both makeup and hair for wedding parties from May - September. A 2nd artist or stylist can be hired to get your party done quicker however, there will be a $70 fee added to your total.
However, don't hesitate to contact us anyways. If we have availability, we may be able to accommodate a smaller booking.

What if the number of people booked changes?

Final count for people receiving makeup or hair services must be finalized 2 months before wedding date and we must be notified. If someone in the party cancels within the 2 months prior to appointment date, the signee of the contract is responsible for paying for the services that were booked. If the number of services drops to 50% or to an amount of people deemed unacceptable, we may ask for a second deposit or cancel the booking.

Do I need to do a trial? And how long do trials take?

No, you do not require a trial. However, it is a good idea to do one so that you can get a feel for the makeup beforehand. If you have a specific look you are going for or are unsure of what you are looking for, a trial can help put your mind at ease. During a trial we tweak the makeup to your individual specifications until it’s perfect.

Trials for makeup can take from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. If you are doing a trial for hair and makeup budget up to 2.5 hours.

What brands of makeup do you use?

I use MAC, Too Faced, Temptu, Makeup Geek and Urban Decay but each of the artists on my team use different brands according to their preferences.

Do you have a studio or do you travel to your clients? Do you travel
outside Edmonton?

I do not have a studio. I am a mobile artist which means I come to you!
I do travel outside of Edmonton. Let me know in your contact form where you would like me to travel to and I will give you a quote. I charge $0.50/km outside of Edmonton. Within Edmonton is $30 flat fee.
